December 10-11, 2012, Dan Panorama Hotel, Tel Aviv, Israel
In 2012, Levinsky College of Education will celebrate its 100th anniversary. The college was founded 36 years before the establishment of the State of Israel. From the time of its founding, it has endeavored to instill values that have shaped the face of Israel and the country’s excellent educational system.
To mark this historic and festive event, I am pleased to invite you to an international conference focusing on education, teacher education and music education, to be held December 10-11, 2012. The aim of the conference is to sum up years of accumulated scientific and practical knowledge in education in Israel and worldwide, to yield a picture that can serve as a basis for planning and designing education in the future.
The conference will focus on research, innovation and discourse in education, and is open to members of the academia and to teacher education professionals from Israel and across the globe. The conference will include three major areas of interest: (1) discourse, research and innovation in education and teacher education; (2) music education; and (3) developmental-historical perspectives on education and teacher education.
The conference will host foreign guest lecturers as well as leading Israeli researchers and theoreticians. Presentations will be made by researchers from universities and colleges across the research spectrum, ranging from highly experienced researchers to students pursuing advanced degrees, as well as teacher-researchers, in accordance with contemporary perspectives in education and teacher education.
If you are engaged in education, teacher education or music education, I personally invite you to take part in this conference, which will mark an important and historic event for educational science worldwide, for the State of Israel, and for the Levinsky College of Education. Join us in celebrating by submitting your abstracts and registering for this conference, which will take place very close to the place where the college was founded 100 years ago, in Neve Tsedek Tel Aviv by the sea.
I hope to have the opportunity to meet you at the conference.
